You can only enter the Darkest Dungeon with a party of Lv. This area and the map layouts are completely scripted and in order to complete the game you must finish four quests, as follows: Kill 1 Shuffling Horror, Activate 3 Iron Crowns, Activate 1 Locus Beacon, and Kill 1 Heart of Darkness. Weald can get nasty with those fungal enemies blighting and marking you constantly, and also those ectoplasms using cytokinesis to spawn clones of themselves.The final dungeon in the game, filled with eldritch, beast and unholy enemies. Warrens have those pig centaurs which have a tonne of health and deal some heavy party-wide damage (Psst, use Occultist for the Dmg debuff against them). From what I tried so far, it seems the easiest of all areas so far for Veteran difficulty. If I had to recommend which dungeon area to start with, I'd say the Ruins. Ruins for example have a lot of human and unholy enemies, so trinkets boosting damage against those help a lot.Īlso, start with short runs. Likewise, you can improve your heroes via trinkets. For example a Hound Master I found not to be too good in a Cove, where most enemies have bleeding resistances, but he's perfect for a Weald. You might have to pick the classes that are better suited for each area. Knowing your dungeon area also makes a big difference here. Among skils especially prioritise upgrading those you use the most, like Vestal's healing skills for example. Upgrading weapons, armour, and skills to level 3 helps a lot. My first Veteran run ended in disaster (lost a hero and had to abandon it before any others died too). ![]() They do seem like a huge step up in difficulty at first, but it gets better eventually. ![]()
